〈시간의 정원〉은 스타필드 별마당 도서관에서 주최한 제4회 열린아트 공모전 대상 수상작으로, 펼쳐진 책의 형태와 모래시계의 이미지를 결합한 키네틱 작품이다. 모래시계를 둘러싼 투명 필름들은 여러 개의 모터 사이에 매달려 있으며, 모터의 회전에 따라 안과 밖이 뒤집히거나 필름 자체가 비틀리면서 끊임없이 변화하는 형태와 움직임을 만들어냈다.
각도에 따라 다양한 색으로 반짝이는 필름들은 순차적으로 아래로 쏟아지거나 다시 위로 상승하며 시간의 흐름과 역행을 동시에 표현하였다. 때로는 시계 방향의 회전이 더해져 나선형의 흐름을 형성하고, 반복되는 회전과 비틀림을 통해 선형적으로 흘러가는 시간과는 다른 복합적인 시간의 이미지를 만들어냈다. 또한 투명 필름의 표면은 관람객과 주변의 책, 공간의 빛을 끊임없이 반사하고 중첩시키며 지식의 소통과 상호작용을 시각적으로 드러냈다.
〈시간의 정원〉은 책을 읽는 동안 과거의 지식이 현재에서 다시 경험되고, 새로운 해석을 통해 확장되어 또 다른 시간으로 이어지는 과정을 비선형적인 움직임으로 표현하였다. 되감기고 반복되며 다시 흘러가는 시간의 이미지 속에서, 작품은 독서에 몰입하는 순간 경험하게 되는 시간의 초월과 지식의 순환을 하나의 움직이는 풍경으로 드러냈다.

〈Garden of Time〉 was a kinetic artwork that received the Grand Prize at the 4th Open Art Competition organized by Starfield Library. Combining the form of an open book with the image of an hourglass, the work consisted of transparent films suspended between multiple motors. As the motors rotated, the films flipped inside out or twisted along their own axes, creating continuously changing forms and movements.
Depending on the viewing angle, the films shimmered in different colors as they moved sequentially downward and then rose again, expressing both the flow and reversal of time. At other moments, clockwise rotation generated spiral movements, producing a more complex image of time beyond linear progression. The transparent surfaces also continuously reflected and layered the viewers, the surrounding books, and the light of the space, visually expressing the communication and interaction of knowledge.
〈Garden of Time〉 translated the experience of reading into nonlinear movement, showing how knowledge from the past can be encountered again in the present, expanded through new interpretations, and carried forward into another moment in time. Through images of time flowing, reversing, and repeating, the work presented temporal transcendence and the circulation of knowledge as a continuously shifting kinetic landscape.
